Fired Up Theatre seeks to provide the highest and most innovative quality theatre-in-education and community arts projects for children, young people and adults across all age ranges and abilities.
Fired Up Theatre seeks to work with all these groups irrespective of their cultural background and will work in environments that are conclusive to all concerned e.g. schools, colleges, universities, community venues, special centres and small scale theatres/drama studios.
While predominantly concerned with working in the Midlands (West Midlands, Shropshire, Staffordshire, The Black Country and Worcestershire) the company additionally seeks to offer its wide range of experience and practical skills on a nationwide basis.
Fired Up Theatre is committed to networking artists from all relevant mediums, i.e. Performance Art, Visual Art, Creative and Digital Arts with the objective of producing workshops and productions that offer full accessibility. Working with these practitioners develops a holistic experience enhancing and balancing the key values of education and entertainment.
Networking Policy
Since its formation in November 2003, Fired Up Theatre has developed a unique networking style with artists from a mixture of backgrounds, including drama/theatre, music, dance, ceramics, video/short film, graphics and textiles. Although its fundamental premise is working in drama and theatre, Fired Up’s approach to any project is to work along side artists from the aforementioned art forms wherever possible, thus creating a full “in-house” production that can literally offer something for all.
More often than not, and particularly in a school environment, a drama project for example, may not appeal to all with Fired Up’s working ethos, pupils can be involved in acting, design, video, graphics and technology design, dance, music, etc.
This approach offers a more efficient and more economical process because all of the artists are supplied by agents. Since all of the artists are only together once in one place, the vitality and novelty of a new company are never lost. Children and adults alike can learn and enjoy more in a shorter space of time. Fired Up Theatre recognises the value of teaching hours in any educational or other community establishment, and aims to make experiences that are rich with meaning and creativity.
